The Orient Research team comprises of dedicated, expert and specially selected Technical Directors and Consultants. Collectively, the team has more than 55 years of practical experience in architectural and engineering design and project and construction management. 

As Orient Research, we have worked on projects in more than 30 countries in Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Our Staff

Orient Research’s senior team of dedicated technical directors and consultants has more than 55 years of practical experience in architectural and engineering design and in project and construction management.

Orient Research engineers and architects are highly qualified and have extensive theoretical and practical experience in the design and construction of structures in accordance with American, British, European [Union] and Turkish Codes of Practice. Most of our staff had completed postgraduate degrees. We employ professionally qualified staff including Chartered Civil and Structural Engineers, Chartered Architect, Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Doctors in Engineering. Due to the international nature of our consulting services, all of our senior staff members are fluent in English. Other languages spoken are Turkish, German, Japanese, French, Serb Croat, Arabic, Farsi, Russian, Malay and Chinese.

Our staff’s experience includes all aspects of design and management of architectural, civil and structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, environmental engineering and sustainable engineering projects. We have been realising projects from feasibility stage through to completion and handover to our clients. No project is too small or too big and they are treated with the same level of importance. We have the experience to deliver them successfully.

Orient Research engineers and technicians are also very capable and experienced in carrying out destructive and non–destructive testing, which are an important part of our investigative studies into the strength of existing structures
Our AutoCAD technicians are skilled in the use of Building Information Modelling software REVIT for the architectural, structural, and Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing drafting works. They are also trained in the use of other 3D modelling and presentation software.

Our Community

Employees of Orient Research are encouraged to become involved in community work; either as individuals, in non-governmental organisations (NGOs) or through the company itself. These include the promotion of education, social, infrastructural, art, engineering and environmental projects. Orient Research believes in fostering understanding between our architects and engineers and the community.

Each year we allocate a proportion of our resources and budget for voluntary services to the community. We help organisations that require our services but do not necessarily have the financial means to afford it. Our efforts are also channelled to projects helping the physically and socially disadvantaged. We are also active in promoting engineering challenges with university students.

To acquire know-how and to keep abreast with the current technologies, Orient Research has been participating in the relevant international and local engineering forums. Some of our staff are members of the following institutions:

Seminars and lectures from external speakers are organised on a regular basis in our offices for all our staff and covering a broad spectrum of architectural and engineering interests. During the COVID19 pandemic, meetings have been limited to virtual participation.

In addition, we positively encourage all our staff to always better themselves in their free time and not to be complacent with what they have achieved and know. They have the capacity to explore the boundaries of knowledge by setting time to further reading of technical journals and news of their industry, do an extra degree, be certified by the relevant professional institutions, arrange for site visits to challenging projects and whatever they have interests in that can broaden their depths of knowledge. As Orient Research we make these possible for our staff.

Health and Safety at Work

Our work is to make a better world and in the process of achieving that, some stages of the work for the realisation of the project can be hazardous, if it is not taken into consideration during the design and construction process. We instil in our staff to design buildable structures and to incorporate safety into the design.

However, we must also provide safe working places for all or staff. The consideration also extends to all our visitors. During this 2020 pandemic, our health and safety measures have been proven to work immensely well.  Of course, we do not just stop there. We are always updating our knowledge on current developments on health and safety, and where beneficial, will implement them forthwith.

Quality Assurance

Our company carries out all business processes in accordance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System since we have a commitment to the quality of all our services. All design processes follow the predefined procedures which has been trialled and tested by our management team and where necessary, they are updated to reflect the new challenges pose by the construction sector.

We have also developed a Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, specifically for our site management services. This is in addition to the Quality Control system that will be present for any construction work. Our quality assurance procedures can help prevent delays, abortive work, serious injuries at the site and additional costs.
